It depicts Kell with his magical coat stepping from black to red London. It is simplistic, but such a beautiful representation of the story. I am going to start with the cover because it is absolutely brilliant.
Story in a Sentence: Master Kell is one of only two Antaris left in all of the four Londons and is charged with carrying messages among their monarchs, but when a forbidden stone comes into his possession, he ends up requiring help from a magicless thief.
Once I learned this and saw the glowing reviews all over Goodreads and other blogs, I decided to get off my lazy ass and actually read it. I loved both but didn’t realize that she was the author of the “Shades of Magic” series since those were published under her pseudonym, V.E. My first experience with Victoria Schwab was her “Monsters of Verity” duology made up of This Savage Songand Our Dark Duet. Schwab (Victoria Schwab) is book one in the “Shades of Magic” series.
